Willie Earl Walker, Jr., a resident of Dothan, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at his residence. He was 61.


Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, November 1, 2019 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10-11 am.


Mr. Walker was born on February 16, 1958 in Henry County and graduated from Headland High School in 1977. He joined the US Army in 1980 and served for 15 years. Mr. Walker was a pillar of our community, a good role model, willing to help people out, working with NA and AA. He loved to speak and tell his story, he was always learning, being both the student and the teacher.


He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie E. Walker, Sr. and Ennie Ethel Walker; and brother, Wallale Walker.


He leaves to cherish his memories his son, Jamaal Walker; his grandchildren, Tamea Oliver and Tamya Oliver; his brothers, Wayne C. Kelley and Bruce (Jackolyn) Walker; his sisters, Dorothy Ousley, Margaret Walker Jones, Remonia (Michael) Dawson, Gloria A. Smith, Annie (Charles) Bishop, Diane (Willie) Gilbert and Shelia (Anthony) Wesley; and several nieces and nephews.
