Willie Edward Collins, 84, a resident of Dothan, passed away, Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Marianna Health and Rehab Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with his son, Steve Hendrix officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Cottondale, Florida with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:15 p.m. on Saturday prior to service time.

Mr. Collins was born May 1, 1940, in Orlando, Florida to Luther and Frieda Collins and lived the early years of his life there. He attended college and later served in the U.S. Army for 20 years prior to his retirement.  Following his military service he was an independent contractor. Mr. Collins was a member of Bascom Assembly of God Church in Bascom, Florida.  

He is predeceased by his parents and a son Dennis Hendrix.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Ann Brannon Collins of Dothan; children, Shana Ouellette (Tim), Lia Collins, Jennifer Parker (Jamie), Steve Hendrix (Ladonna), Sheila Poe (Tony) and Tammy Loyed (Gary); 20 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Deloras Johnson.

Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Luke Hendrix, Jackson Brown, Joshua Loyed, Zachary Loyed, Matthew Hendrix, Joseph Hendrix and Colin Hendrix.
