MIDLAND CITY. . .Willie Eugene Bowman, a resident of Midland City, died Wednesday night, September 14, 2022, at his home. He was 72.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 17, 2022, in the Sanctuary of Praise with Cody Chandler officiating. Graveside services, with military honors, will follow in the Midland City Cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at the mortuary in Headland.
Mr. Bowman was born in Coffee County, near Enterprise, son of the late George Macklin Bowman and Nellie Ruth Morrell Bowman. He lived in Midland City most of his lifetime. Mr. Bowman served his country in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was formerly employed as a carpenter in residential and commercial construction. In later years, he was a truck driver. Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by a brother, Billy M. Bowman and a son-in-law, Joseph Frederick.
Surviving relatives include six daughters, Lisa Bowman, Dothan; Pamela Thomas (Rico), Atlanta; Kimberly Danzey, Midland City; Tracy Frederick, Enterprise; Tanya Pilkington (Doug), and Stephanie Barnett, all of Berry, AL; two sons, Willie Bowman, and Waylon Bowman, both of Berry, AL; three sisters, JoAnn Jackson (Wayne), Kinston, AL; Rebecca Clark, Midland City; and Mary Davis, Dothan; a brother, Donald Bowman (Betty Benson), Napier Field; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Enhabit Hospice especially Flo and Jessica for the loving care and kindness shown to Mr. Bowman during his illness.
