Willie Thomas Searcy, 70, a resident of Dothan passed away Saturday, November 7, 2015 at a local hospital.


Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 12-1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.


Mr. Searcy was born September 13, 1945 in Cottonwood, AL and lived the early years of his life in Gordon. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was employed with Sony for several years and Hedstrom prior to his retirement. Mr. Searcy was a member of the Dothan Marine Corps League. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Minnie Vickers, Allie Woodberry, and Letha Anderson.


Survivors include his wife JoAnn Searcy; his son, LaSharis McCallister; his daughters, Dametruis Ranaldson and Akeaster Searcy; grandchildren, Tanetria Nobles, Corin Ranaldson, and Anthony Danage; great-grandchildren, Nyla Nobles and Layla Nobles; his brothers, Rossie Grimsley and Samuel Lewis; his sister, Lucy Pearl Pollock; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
