WILLIE VINSON HAGLER
KINSEY. . .Willie Vinson Hagler, a resident of Kinsey, died early Monday night, August 4, 2014, in a Dothan hospital. He was 75.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 7, 2014, in the Kinsey Baptist Church with Reverend Brad Hardy officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday in the sanctuary of the Kinsey Baptist Church.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Kinsey Baptist Church “Van Fund”, 6745 Walden Drive, Kinsey, AL 36303.
Mr. Hagler was a lifelong resident of Kinsey, son of the late Willie B. Hagler and Mattie Lou Moats Hagler. He was a 1957 graduate of the Houston County High School in Columbia. Mr. Hagler served in the Alabama Air National Guard Unit in Dothan. He was retired from the M. O. Carroll-Newton Grocery Company in Ozark as a salesman.
An active member of the Kinsey Baptist Church, Mr. Hagler served the church as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and was involved in most church activities. A member of the Kinsey Fire Department, he formerly served as a member of the Kinsey Town Council. Mr. Hagler was preceded in death by a son, John Lynn Hagler, a son-in-law, Mike Towns, and four sisters, Mary Williams, Martha Sue Murrell, Carolyn Doswell, and Betty Hall.
Surviving relatives include his wife of fifty years, Inez Sewell Hagler, a daughter, Lisa Hagler Towns, Columbia; a son, Norman Hagler (Kendra), Headland; a sister, Nell Moore (Sam), Kinsey; a brother, Virgil Hagler (Gladys), Dothan; brothers-in-law, Laverne Williams, Clio; Charles Hall and Bill Doswell, both of Kinsey; four grandchildren, Joshua Towns (Katie), Caleb Towns (Jordan), Matthew Towns (Amber), and Brooke Hagler, three great-grandchildren, Parker Towns, Emma Claire Towns, and Grayson Towns; sisters-in-law from the Sewell family, Judy Wilson (Roy), and Glenda Woodham (Mac); several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Michael Douglas, Daniel Rich, Durwood Doswell, Todd Moore, Scott Ellenburg, M. C. Douglas and Greg Wilson.
