LEVEL PLAINS… (S.F.C., U.S. Army, Retired) Winston Saxon, a resident of Level Plains, died Monday morning, July 13, 2020 at his home. He was 76.


            Celebration of Life Services, with full military honors, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 16, 2020 in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vietnam Veterans War Memorial, 900 Ohio Drive SW, Washington, DC 20024.


            Mr. Saxon, son of the late Winston Elmer Warrick and Ethel Laurine Saxon, was a native of Perry County, MS. He joined the United States Army in 1963 and served three tours in Vietnam. Mr. Saxon moved to the Ft. Rucker area in 1965 and was retired from Ft. Rucker as a helicopter mechanic. He was preceded in death by his wives, Patsy English Saxon and Latricia Saxon; sister, Darlene Warrick.


            Surviving relatives include his daughters, Michelle Gatlin (Stanley), Level Plains and Pamela Saxon-Matyjasik, Abbeville; son, Lamar Saxon (Renee), Kennedale, TX; step-daughter, Heather Womack (Derreck; step-son, Jason Whitehead, all of Cottonwood; two brothers, Wayne Warrick, Brookhaven, MS and Larry Warrick, Wesson, MS; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
