Wyatt Downing, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017 at Fort Walton Beach Rehabilitation Center.  He was 78.

 

Graveside funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 6, 2017, at Mount Zion Cemetery with Rev. Jason Hughes officiating.  Burial will follow with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Heart Association, Southeast Affiliate (Coffee County, AL), Living Legacy Partnership, PO Box 409410, Atlanta, GA 30384-9410; or Alabama Kidney Foundation Inc., PO Box 12505, Birmingham, AL 35202.

 

Mr. Downing was born January 20, 1939, in Tennille, Alabama.  He was a veteran of the Air National Guard.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mandy Bell Downing; and brother, Lorenzo “Buddy” Downing.

 

Survivors include daughter, Lisa Killingsworth (Greg) of Fort Walton Beach, FL; son, Eric Downing (Sandy) of Pensacola, FL; two sisters: Novella Mitchell (Billy) and Loretta Griswold, all of Enterprise, AL; grandchild, Steven Downing (Sandy); great-grandchild, Damien Bray; numerous nieces and nephews.
