ABBEVILLE. . .Wynell Roney Howell, a resident of Abbeville, died Friday morning, July 12, 2013, at her home. She was 90.


            Graveside services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, July 13, 2013, in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery-East with Reverend Ray S. Reiley officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:45 P.M. Saturday at the mortuary in Abbeville.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Abbeville Building Fund, P.O. Box 606, Abbeville, AL 36310 or to Gentiva Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, AL 36302.


            Mrs. Howell was born near the Tumbleton Community of Henry County and moved with her family to the Union Community as a child. She lived in Abbeville since 1955 where she was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Howell was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Wilburn Roney and Lessie McKnight Roney, her husband, T. R. (Spud) Howell, a son-in-law, Jack Gordon Skipper, and two sisters, Doris Dykes and Dutchie Abernathy.


            Surviving relatives include two daughters, Glenda Skipper, and Deborah Riggs and husband, Browning, a son, Roger Howell, all of Abbeville; a sister, Bunch Armstrong, Headland; five grandchildren, Glenn Skipper, (Pamela), Jacqueline Adams (Brian), Kelli Daughtry (Chris), Alicia Jacobs (Doug), and Bill Bush (Melissa); eleven great-grandchildren.
