WEBB, ALABAMA. . . Zona Gayle Watson Wade Enfinger, a former resident of Webb, died early Saturday morning, September 28, 2024, in Westside Terrace in Dothan. She was 84.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Monday, September 30, 2024 in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Larry Adams and Pastor Sidney Miller officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. Monday at the mortuary in Headland. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Plains Baptist Church Cemetery.
Serving as active pallbearers will be, Andy Wade, Tanner Wade, Cody Wade, Chris Watson, Tim Watson and P.J. Phillips.
The family will be at the home of her son, Vince Wade.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Plains Baptist Church, 7220 E. Country 22, Ashford, AL 36312.
Gayle Wade Enfinger was born and reared in the Tumbleton community of Henry County, daughter of the late Luther Holman Watson and Gladys Irene DeShazo Watson. She was a 1958 graduate of Headland High School. Gayle lived in Houston County, near Webb, most of her lifetime. She was a member of the Pleasant Plains Baptist Church and attended New Freedom Church. Gayle formerly served on the Arthritis Foundation Board and volunteered at Southeast Health. She was a farmer’s wife, Mother, homemaker, cake and cookie baker and seamstress. Gayle was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Haywood Wade and John Ellis Enfinger, a sister, Shirley Watson Moncus, brothers, Jimmy Ray Watson and Tracy Watson, a grandson, Logan Wade, and a son-in-law, Billy Wayne Henderson.
Surviving relatives include her daughters, Angelia Wade Turner (Cal), Dothan; Vicki Wade Davis (David), Dothan; and Amanda Wade Henderson, Columbia; a son, Charles Vince Wade (Michelle), Webb; a sister, Wanda Watson Helms (Maxie), Haines City, FL; and a brother, Kyle Watson (Mary), Georgetown, GA; grandchildren, Jackie Turner, Andrew Wade (Raven), Tanner Wade (Hayden), and Cody Wade (Hannah); great-grandchildren, Wyatt Wade, Mason Wade, Olivia Wade, Riot Wade, River Wade, and Rylee Wade; several nieces and nephews; special cousins, Margo Deshazo Apida (Robert), and Kenny Wayne Watson; a brother-in-law, David Wade and his wife, Martha.
The family would like to thank the amazing staff of Westside Terrace, our special angel, Brittany Kelley and Gentiva Hospice for the loving care and kindness shown to Gayle during her illness.
