OZARK…Mr. David Lee Jones, a resident of Ozark, passed away Saturday morning, April 11, 2026, at his home. He was 69.
Homegoing services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 18, 2026, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Westside Cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Jones was born on December 30, 1956, to the late Lanford Jones and Hazel Zeighler Jones in Goshen, Alabama. He departed this life on Saturday, April 11, 2026. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Annette Jones and Helen Jones Baker; brothers Lanford Jones, Jr., and Milton Jones.
David was a longtime resident of Ozark, Alabama where he confessed his life to Christ at an early age at Greater Sardis Missionary Church. He was known for his strong personality and independent spirit.
He leaves to cherish his memory his brothers and sisters Jeanette McLaughlin, Ozark, Thomas Charles Jones (Mary Ann) Dothan, Jimmy Lee Jones, Huntsville, Ingrid Jones, Montgomery, and Angela Jones, Ozark; special friend, Ruby Byrd; his best friend Michael Glenn (Phenishia), Texasville.
He was also a devoted uncle to sixteen; Bernell Jones (Sabrina), Tammy Jones, Pam Jones, Kim Jones, Equado Jones, Edward Jones, Ashenequia Jones, Marquita McLaughlin, Danielle McLaughlin, Jermaine McLaughlin, Carlos McLaughlin, Niyoki McLaughlin, Chelsea Roberts, Xavier Jones, Michaela Jones, Tatyana Jones, and Raquille Reed; and a host of great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
