OZARK…Mr. Jeff Peters, a resident of Ozark, died early Tuesday morning, September 1, 2026, at his home. He was 60.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 4, 2026, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Harold Peters officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Peters, son of the late Wilford Lewis Peters and Delores Ward Peters, was a proud native of Ozark and spent his entire life in the community he loved. He attended Ariton High School and built many lifelong friendships throughout the years. Ozark was more than just his hometown; it was where he made memories, enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, and spent time with the people who meant the most to him.
Mr. Peters was a man who truly appreciated the outdoors. Whether he was sitting quietly in the woods waiting on a deer, casting a line into the water hoping for a good catch, or simply enjoying the peace and beauty of nature, he found joy in life’s simple moments. Hunting and fishing were more than hobbies to him; they were passions that brought him happiness and provided opportunities to spend time with family and friends.
He also had a deep love for music. No matter where he was, music was often playing nearby, providing a soundtrack to his days and a source of comfort and enjoyment throughout his life. He enjoyed sharing songs, memories, and conversations with those around him, and his easygoing nature made him a pleasure to be around.
Mr. Peters was a member Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Ozark. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his appreciation for music, his strong faith, and the genuine kindness he showed to others. Above all, he will be remembered by those who knew and loved him as a man who enjoyed life’s simple blessings and valued the time he spent with family and friends. His memory will be treasured and his presence deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Surviving relatives include his children, Patricia Ann and Elizabeth; two sisters, Kimberly Tipton (Rex), Rehobeth and Tracy Viles (Eric), Ozark; brother, Kyle Peters (Dottie), Pike Road, Alabama; nieces and nephews, David Ryan George (Heather), Nathan Ryan Peters (Samantha), Haley Brooke Egbert (Tyler), Megan Viles, Chelsea Fell (Ben), and Larry F. Viles, II; several great nieces and nephews; aunt, Sarah Byrd Cooper, Ozark; numerous cousins.
