ECHO COMMUNITY…Mrs. Doris Hester Densel, a resident of the Echo Community, died early Wednesday morning, November 4, 2026, in a Dothan hospital. She was 79.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 13, 2026, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, Echo Community, with Pastor Matt Sasser officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Densel, daughter of the late Lloyd Paul Hester and Myrtie Hester, was a native of Romulus, Michigan. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose life was characterized by faithfulness to her family, a strong work ethic, and a generous spirit. Following her marriage to Frederick Louis Densel, she embraced the life of a military wife, traveling throughout the United States and overseas while her husband proudly served in the United States Army. Through each assignment and relocation, she provided a loving and stable home for her family, demonstrating unwavering support and devotion to her husband throughout his military career.

She moved to the Echo community in 1978, where she and her husband established their permanent home and became well-known members of the community. Together, they shared sixty-one years of marriage, building a life founded upon love, commitment, and dedication to family. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.

Mrs. Densel was employed over the years by an Ozark nursing home and the Ozark Holiday Inn. She later retired from Teledyne Industries in Abbeville after many years of faithful service. She approached both her professional and personal responsibilities with diligence and pride, earning the respect and admiration of those who worked alongside her.

She found great enjoyment in gardening and took pride in the fruits of her labor. She was an accomplished homemaker who enjoyed canning, preparing home-cooked meals, and making homemade wine. Her home was often a gathering place for family, where she lovingly shared her talents and hospitality with those she held dear.

Above all else, Mrs. Densel’s greatest joy was her family. She treasured every opportunity to be with her children, grandchildren, and loved ones. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she delighted in their accomplishments and milestones. Her love, guidance, and devotion will remain a cherished legacy to all who were blessed to know her.

Mrs. Densel was preceded in death by her beloved husband of sixty-one years, Frederick Louis Densel, and by her sister, Paulette Fitzpatrick.
