ENTERPRISE…Mrs. Gayle Hausman, a resident of Enterprise, died late Monday afternoon, August 31, 2026, at her home. She was 80.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Friday, September 4, 2026, in Bridlewood Chapel Church with Reverend Justin Davis and Pastor Terry Hester officiating. Graveside services will be at Alabama National Cemetery. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 P.M. Friday at the church.
Mrs. Hausman, daughter of the late Willie Carl Gohagan and Mary Edna Cherry Gohagan, was born and raised in Clayton, Alabama. At an early age, her family moved to Brundidge, a community that would remain close to her heart throughout her life. She graduated from Pike County High School in 1964 and continued her education at Troy University. Through the years, she built a successful career marked by dedication, professionalism, and a genuine love for working with people. She was employed with United Federal, Regions Bank, AmSouth Mortgage, and later retired from Southland Mortgage Company. Retirement, however, did not slow her down. She continued serving others through her work with the Larry Pittman State Farm Office in Ozark, where she formed many lasting friendships and was respected for her kindness, dependability, and warm spirit.
While she found fulfillment in her professional life, her greatest passion was her faith and her church family. Mrs. Hausman was a devoted and faithful member of Bridlewood Chapel Church, where she poured her heart into serving the Lord and her congregation. Over the years, she faithfully held numerous leadership roles, including Secretary/Treasurer, Chairman of the Board, and Choir Director. For more than fifty-two years, she led the church choir with dedication, patience, and a deep love for worship. Her influence touched generations of church members, and countless people were blessed by her commitment, guidance, and servant’s heart. Whether she was organizing church business, leading music, or simply offering a word of encouragement, she served with humility, grace, and an unwavering faith.
Mrs. Hausman will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who treasured her family above all else. She possessed a gentle spirit, a caring heart, and a strength that inspired those around her. She was always willing to lend a helping hand, share a kind word, or offer support to someone in need. Her life was a beautiful example of faith, service, and love, and the impact she made on her family, friends, church, and community will be felt for years to come.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James H. “Jim” Hausman, Captain, United States Army (Retired); her son, Bobby Stennett; her sister, Lee Ila Kimbro; and her brother, Carl Wayne Gohagan. Though she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, her family finds comfort in the many cherished memories she leaves behind and in the legacy of faith, love, and service that will continue to inspire future generations.
Surviving relatives include her sons, Toby Stennett, Enterprise, Wayne Hausman (Laurel), Centerville, Virginia, and Jimmy Hausman (Sue Ellen), Springfield, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Gaye Stennett, Cordele, Georgia; sister, Billie Sue Rivenbark, Ozark; sister-in-law, Joyce Gohagen, Echo Community; grandchildren, Benjamin (Rachel), Samuel (Nikki), and Sharla Ham (Jacob); two great-grandchildren, Hallie Stennett and Elena Trevin; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
