Mrs. Phillips was born on August 28, 1935, in Midland City to Bryant and Vera Wright Windham. She married Eldon Phillips and throughout their life they raised their children and lived in the Ewell community. She was a long-time member of Ewell Bible Baptist Church.
Mrs. Phillips was a devoted woman of God, homemaker, loving mother, cherished grandmother, wonderful cook, treasured friend, and prayer warrior. She spent her life making the world a little brighter and more loving for everyone that was fortunate enough to know her. She enjoyed playing games, especially Scrabble with her grandchildren.
Her greatest joy was her family, and her greatest accomplishment was the home she created. It was a place where love was abundant, prayers were shared, the door was always open, and no one ever left hungry. She found immeasurable happiness in the laughter, hugs, and accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. Her happiness was found in a house full of family, a recipe passed down through generations, and the simple joy of being together.
Mrs. Phillips was proceeded in death by her husband, her parents, four brothers, two sisters, and a granddaughter.
She is survived by her five children, Steve Phillips (Pati), Delores Woodham (Jim Jacobs), Zena Clements (Curt), Craig Phillips (Kristie), Amy White (John); fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren; a sister, Karen Bell; a special sister-in-law, Ann Phillips; several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Chase Payne, Kros Payne, Will White, Cody Clements, Cole Phillips, Ryan Allen, Hanson Jacobs, and Brian Colvin.
A special thank you to her wonderful nurses with DaySpring Hospice and her loving caregivers, especially Barbara Walker and Susie Daniels.
