OZARK…Ruth Rebecca Rosentrater, a resident of Ozark, died early Friday evening, July 24, 2026, at her home. She was 58.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 14, 2026, at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Ozark with Reverend Dr. Thomas Nixon officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Friday at the church. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Rosentrater, daughter of the late Michael Donald Rosentrater and Brenda Ennis Rosentrater, was a lifelong resident and proud native of Ozark. A member of the Carroll High School Class of 1986, she carried with her a deep appreciation for learning, creativity, and the community she called home.
Following her graduation from high school, she pursued her passion for the arts at Troy University, where she earned both a Bachelor’s Degree in Art and a Master’s Degree in Art Education. Her love for artistic expression and her desire to inspire others led her to a meaningful career in education and community enrichment.
Ms. Rosentrater shared her talents and compassionate spirit with countless students during her time with Ozark City Schools at D.A. Smith School and Children’s Librarian at Ozark Dale County Public Library. Through her patient guidance and encouragement, she helped young minds discover creativity, confidence, and a love for the arts. She also served at the Ann Rudd Art Center in Ozark, where she was devoted to fostering an appreciation for art and culture within her hometown.
Known for her creative heart, gentle nature, and dedication to education, Ms. Rosentrater touched the lives of many through her work and her unwavering commitment to helping others grow and flourish. Her legacy lives on in the students she inspired, the artistic community she helped cultivate, and the many friends and loved ones who were blessed to know her.
Surviving relatives include her daughter, Rebecca Walden Bowyer (Davis), Daphne, Alabama; son, Michael Walden (Aleesa Shaw), Madison, Wisconsin; granddaughter, Vera Walden; several cousins, including Janice Swayne and Patti Carroll Page.
