OZARK…Mrs. Sherry Ann Sanders, a resident of Ozark, died early Tuesday morning, May 13, 2025, in Dale Medical Center. She was 71.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Friday, May 16, 2025, in the Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Rocky Head Community. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Sanders, daughter of the late Nora and Kirk Kirkland, was a native of Blountstown, Florida and remained there until moving to Ozark in 2022. She enjoyed Sudoku puzzles, fishing, sewing, and canning. Mrs. Sanders will always be remembered as having a green thumb as she enjoyed working in the garden and yard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby G. Sanders and her siblings, Ernest Bailey, Sr., Floyd Bailey, and Gwen Kirkland.
Surviving relatives include her four daughters, Gena Jackson (Jerry), Belleville, Illinois, Joni Lambeth (Robert), Blountstown, Florida, Jodi Sanders (William), Grady, Alabama, and Jula Smith, Ozark; her son, Bobby Ray Sanders, Blountstown, Florida; two sisters, Annette Hires (John) and Libby Griffin (James), all of Blountstown, Florida; eight grandchildren, Joshua Smith, Taylor Smith, Rhett Sanders, Bobbie Ann Sanders, Jeramy Murphy, Caleb Lambeth, Gavin Lambeth, and Dean Monroe Sanders-Robinson; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
