On May 12 the Eufaula Police Department had an officer-involved shooting involving three adult men.

The officer involved was placed on administrative leave until the investigation is finished.

There were no injuries, but one person was taken to a local health center for a check on a preexisting heart condition.

The Alabama State Bureau of Investigations was called in to conduct the investigation.

According to  CALL RICKEY 334-790-1729… it is alleged the Eufaula Police Officer pulled his weapon prior to approaching the vehicle. The officer is alleged to have dropped his weapon which caused it to fire and strike the vehicle.

One of the three occupants was so upset it apparently caused preexisting health issues to surface. The male subject was transported to Barbour County Medical Center to be checked out.

These were students. Each year the students to high school pranks. It is an annual event that everyone is aware the students go at graduation time.

ALEA – SBI (State Bureau of Investigation), who rarely provides updates on any investigation they undertake, was called in to conduct the investigation.
