NATIONAL PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DOTHAN, ALABAMA — As national attention returns to Alabama following renewed legal battles and national debate surrounding congressional redistricting and voting rights, longtime civil rights advocate and faith leader Pastor Kenneth Glasgow is calling on churches, organizers, students, legal advocates, and impacted communities to unite around what he describes as “the unfinished work of democracy in the South.”

Pastor Glasgow, founder of  (TOPS) and National President of New National Christian Leadership Movement. Is a nationally recognized advocate for voting rights restoration and criminal justice reform, has spent more than three decades organizing across Alabama and the South.

In 2008, Pastor Glasgow was central to a landmark Alabama voting rights case tied to the rights of incarcerated and formerly incarcerated citizens. That work helped expose longstanding confusion and barriers around felony disenfranchisement and voting access in Alabama.

“People are finally coming to Alabama because democracy is under attack,” said Pastor Kenneth Glasgow. “But many of us never left this fight. We fought when nobody was watching. We fought in prisons, churches, courtrooms, and communities. The South has always been the testing ground for democracy.”

Pastor Glasgow is now launching a broader public initiative focused on:

•    Voting rights education

•    Redistricting awareness

•    Faith-based civic engagement

•    Returning citizen organizing

•    Youth democracy training

•    Community political education

•    Southern grassroots coalition building

The campaign will include:

•    A Southern Democracy Tour

•    Church and campus forums

•    Media appearances

•    Community teach-ins

•    Digital organizing campaigns

•    Livestream strategy sessions

•    Voter empowerment trainings

The effort will operate in partnership with:

•    KSG Ministries & Consultants

•    TOPS

•    NNCLM

•    The Incarcerated People movement

•    Faith leaders and grassroots partners across the South
