Randa Hoover Judy


Randa Hoover Judy, a resident of Dothan, Alabama passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025, in the comfort of her home. She was 81.

A private Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date in the chapel at First United Methodist Church. In honor of Mrs. Judy donations can be made to First united Methodist Church, 1380 West Main St., Dothan, Al. 36301.

Mrs. Judy was born in Hesston, Pennsylvania on January 10, 1944, to F. Dale and Dorothy Hoover. After graduating high school, she attended and completed her nursing degree at Philipsburg State School of Nursing in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania. She married the love of her life Mr. Charles E. Judy in 1964. Charles and Randa then welcomed their sons, Eric, in 1966 and Brad, in 1970. The Judy’s and their two sons moved to Dothan, Alabama in 1979.

Mrs. Judy worked at the Houston County Health Department and served as an Alabama State Immunization nurse prior to her retirement. She was a dedicated member of First United Methodist Church of Dothan. She enjoyed her time volunteering at the church, the FUMC knitting group, delivering meals to shut-ins (Meals on Wheels), helping to make the Thanksgiving dressing for meals during the Thanksgiving holiday and her United Methodist Women’s group. She loved trips to the beach with her family and time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Charles E. Judy, Dothan; two sons, Eric Judy (Kim), Dothan and Brad Judy (Dana) , Hoover; four grandchildren, Madeline Wheeler (Matt), Pike Road, Wyatt Judy (Madison), Dothan, William Judy (Anna), Hoover, and Grayson Judy, Hoover; two great grandchildren, Evelyn and Eloise Wheeler, Pike Road; a brother, Roger Hoover (Shay); three sisters, Pamela Heim (Lowell), Ann Edgin (Glen), and Susan Hancock (Jim); two sisters-in-law, Janice Petrie (Claude) and Marsha Cressman along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces ,great nephews and many friends.

A special thank you to Wiregrass Home Care and Gentiva Hospice for the care, love, and compassion provided for Mrs. Judy and her family.
