Ray Neil Howell of Enterprise, AL passed away, Monday, November 3, 2025, at Medical Center Enterprise. He was 88.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with, Greg Vick and Rev. William Pless officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Park Avenue Baptist Church, 300 East Park Avenue, Enterprise, AL.
Ray was born on October 27, 1937 in Holmes County, Florida to the late Seba T. Howell and Gladys Lee Howell. Ray was a retired lineman with Alabama Power and held the distinction of being the longest serving local lineman upon retirement providing 46 years of service. Ray was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He served not only his community but was also a dedicated servant of the Lord and faithful to his church throughout his life. He was a longtime member and deacon at Park Avenue Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his three brothers; Jimmy Howell, Joe Howell, and Jack Howell; two sisters Sara Hendrix and Virginia Boschert.
Survivors include his wife off 66 years, Paula Keller Howell of Enterprise, AL; two daughters, Teresa Waterworth (Ray) and Lynn Vick (Greg) both of Enterprise; one brother, Johnny Howell (Kathy), Hartford, AL; grandchildren, Ashley Quinn (Joe), Justin Daughery (Abby), Erica Keller (Garrett), Emily Vick, Addison Waterworth, Hannah Waterworth; great-grandchildren, Max Gardner, Mollie Gardner, Charlotte Daugherty, Preston Daughtery, Lee Keller, Clara Keller, JJ Quin, Ettie Quinn.
