Robert “Bobby” Dean Murphy of Samson, AL passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at his residence. He was 89 years old.
The family will have a time of visitation from 2:00 -3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, AL. Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at 1:15 p.m. from the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL with full military honors. Minister Douglas Williams will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Geneva Church of Christ, 602 W. Maple Ave., Geneva, AL 36340 in Mr. Bobby’s memory.
Mr. Bobby was born in Michigan on September 17, 1935 to the late Nelson and Leora Olson Murphy. He proudly served his country in the US Army. During his time in the military, he served as a firefighter. After retirement, he enjoyed working outside and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Margaret Pearl Gibson Murphy; stepson, David Christopher Williams; two brothers, Arthur and Stacy Murphy; one son-in-law, Jimmy Cecil Bryant.
Mr. Bobby is survived by his wife, Judy Murphy; one son, Robert Edward Murphy (Cherrila); one daughter, Wanda Diane Bryant; Stepson, Steven Henry Williams (Misty); nine grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and two step grandchildren.
