Robert Dennis “Cob” Wiggins, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on February 17, 2025, in Ashford, Alabama, just shy of his 69th birthday. Born on February 21, 1956, in Denver, Colorado, to Robert and Lena Wiggins, Cob was a man whose warm spirit and generous heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Graveside services to honor and celebrate the life of Robert Dennis Wiggins will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Rocky Creek Methodist Church Cemetery. The service will be a time for friends and family to gather, share stories, and remember a man whose life was full of love and purpose.
Cob is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jeri Wiggins; his sons, Derrick Robert Wiggins and Colby Dennis Wiggins; grandson, Blakely Wiggins; parents, Robert and Lena Wiggins; brother, Brian (Teresa) Wiggins; mother-in-law, Tabbie Weathers; sister-in-law, Martha Kirkland; nephew, Dustin (Liz) Wiggins; and his dear friend, Kelly Harrison, will miss the camaraderie and countless memories they shared.
A proud graduate of the Ashford Academy Class of 1974, Cob’s commitment to excellence was evident early on. His career in quality control at nuclear plants showcased his meticulous nature and his dedication to ensuring safety and precision in his work. Cob’s professional life was marked by integrity and a strong work ethic, traits that earned him the respect of his colleagues and peers.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Cob was a hard-core Alabama fan, often heard cheering “Roll Tide” with vigor and passion. His love for sports was not just as a spectator; he took immense joy in watching his sons play sports during their youth. An outdoorsman at heart, Cob found solace in fishing, golfing, and taking Sunday drives down old dirt roads. Camping trips with his family were among his most treasured moments, providing opportunities to bond and create lasting memories.
