Robert Earl “Bobby” Crutchfield, one of Geneva County’s most beloved farmers, passed away peacefully, surrounded by friends and family, on April 15, 2026, at his home near Samson. He was 63.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026, at the First United Methodist Church in Geneva with Rev. Tyler Blevins and Alex Reynolds officiating. Sid Trant and Emmie Reynolds will deliver the eulogy. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Bobby was born on July 24, 1962, in Andalusia, Alabama to Earlston “Earl” and Lorene (Wright) Crutchfield. Bobby graduated from Geneva High School, attended the University of Alabama and Troy University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1986.
Professionally, Bobby was dedicated to his work as a farmer and manager of Coffee County Gin Company in Enterprise. He never hesitated to share his knowledge and love of farming, livestock, peanuts, and cotton.
Bobby’s love for life was radiant. He enjoyed cooking and hosting for family and friends, fishing, hunting, and watching Alabama football.
He’s remembered by all for his gentle character and the affinity he had for helping others. He lived a genuine life of service above self, modeled after his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Bobby always did what needed to be done and never expected anything in return.
He is preceded in death by his father Earlston “Earl” Crutchfield.
He is survived by his wife Elisa, daughter, Ryann Bailey (Marshall Scott); son, Jordan Bailey and wife Haley, grandchildren Connor, Emma Claire and John Rett; his mother, Lorene Crutchfield and husband Jim Davidson; sister, Lynn McCreary, husband Bert, nieces, Frances Swaim, Jennie Gonzalez and Sarah Hutto; as well as sister and brother-in-law, Emmie and Mark Reynolds, nephew, Alex and niece, Addison Reynolds.
In addition to immediate relatives, Bobby extended his love to those who considered him their own family – Heath Morgan, Scotty Howerton, Jessi Thomas, Dwight Carter and many others.
