DOTHAN. . .Robert V. “Bobby” Boone, Jr., a resident of Dothan, passed away Sunday night, October 25, 2026, in a Dothan hospital. He was 75.
Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 28, 2026, in the Headland Methodist Church with Pastor Clay Lassiter, Reverend Charles W. Price, Jr., Ben McClurkin and Sandi Hodge officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

Bobby Boone was born in Dothan and raised in Geneva, son of the late Dr. Robert V. Boone, Sr. and Adelle Shute Boone. He was a graduate of Geneva High School where he played football and was inducted into the Geneva High School Sports Hall of Fame. He received a B. S. Degree from Troy University. He was self-employed as the Co-owner and operator of Buds N Blossoms Nursery & Landscaping. A member of Headland Methodist Church, Bobby formerly served as Chairman of the Administrative Board. He was an active member of “Walk to Emmaus”. In earlier years, Bobby served on the Board of Directors of the Dothan Rotary Club, as President of the Headland Chamber of Commerce, President of the Headland Athletic Association and served as a member of the Wiregrass Rehab Board of Directors. He was an avid tennis player, outdoorsman, loved music, and was devoted to his family.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Rhoda Solomon Boone; a daughter, Elizabeth Boone Carver (J.G.), Vestavia Hills, AL; a son, “J.D.” Boone (Mindy), Dothan; brothers, David Boone, Dothan; and Mike Boone, Beaumont, Texas; Grandchildren, Catherine Carver, Emory Carver, Lucy Carver, Cas Boone and Pearce Boone; a brother-in-law, John W. Solomon (Jill), and a sister-in-law, Jeanie Nordan Solomon.
