ABBEVILLE. . .Robert Wayne “Buddy” Wilson, a resident of Abbeville, passed away Friday night, January 30, 2026, at his home. He was 77.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 3, 2026, in the Pilgrim Rest Free Will Baptist Church with his son, Nick Wilson, and Reverend Billy Cash officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday in the church sanctuary. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

Buddy Wilson was born in Abbeville and raised in the Wills Crossroads Community of Henry County, son of the late John Tyson Wilson and Gladys Money Wilson. He was a graduate of Abbeville High School. Buddy served his country in the Army National Guard in the Abbeville unit. He lived most of his adult lifetime in Level Plains before returning to Henry County in 2014. Buddy was retired as the Supervisor of the Level Plains Water Department and also retired from CSX Railroad in Logistics. He was a member of Pilgrim Rest Free Will Baptist Church. Buddy was preceded in death by a sister Vangie “Dink” Money and a former wife, Remona Wilson McLean.
Surviving relatives include a son, Nick Wilson (Jenni), Abbeville; two sisters, Janice Herndon, Eufaula; and Tammy Riley (Jimmy), Echo Community; grandchildren, Coryn Turner, Tessa Wilson and Reid Wilson; nieces and nephews, Miles Jeffries, Evan Money, Ella Money, Emory Riley and Callie Riley.
