Ruth Lawrence, age 70, of Dothan, Alabama, passed away on October 10, 2026. She was born on June 3, 1956, in Dothan, where she spent her life.
Ruth was married to Bob Lawrence for 45 years. She is survived by her husband; her children, Ben Lawrence and Jenny Lawrence (Steven Carter); her grandson, Jackson Carter; her brother, Robert Beauchamp; her sister, Rebecca Meadows; her brother-in-law, Matt Lawrence; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mary Beauchamp, and her parents-in-law, Chester and Liz Lawrence.
Ruth graduated from Dothan High School and earned her nursing degree from Wallace. She worked as a registered nurse in oncology at Southeast Alabama Medical Center for more than 25 years, caring for patients and their families throughout her career.
In her spare time, Ruth enjoyed British television, reading, gardening, and visiting Target and Starbucks. She loved animals, especially Boxers, and cherished her beloved dorkie, Minnie.
Ruth will be remembered for her dedication to nursing, her love for her family, and her enjoyment of life’s simple pleasures. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at Sunset Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Ruth will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park.
