Mr. Sammie Lee Reaves, age 69, of Dothan, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Troy Health and Rehabilitation.

A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at United Christian Fellowship (208 Lafayette Street, Dothan, AL) with Bishop Carl McComb officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM at the church.

Repast will follow at United Christian Fellowship.

Mr. Reaves was born on March 7, 1956, in Alabama to the late Ernest Reaves and Louise Smith Reaves. He worked as a metal scrapper for many years and was known for his hard-working spirit. Sammie enjoyed fishing, watching his favorite shows—The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, Forensic Files, and karate movies—and cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Timothy Earl Reaves; sister, Arlice Jackson; and daughter, Pamela Reaves.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Shanna Reaves, Syniah Allen, and Bre’aja Alle; Grandchildren: India Clemons, Mikayla Dawson, Nakeyla Dawson, and Zachariaha Jackson; Brother Ladon  Feggins; Sister Sharon Reaves; Uncle: Mickey Smit; Aunt: Annie Ruth Wilson; Special friend: Penny Lawson; Along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Mr. Reaves will be remembered for his kind heart, love for family, and his unique sense of humor. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
