Sara “Gayle” Smith Moore, 60, a resident of Dothan passed away, early Thursday, May 29, 2025, at her residence following an extended illness.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Dothan City Cemetery with Reverend John Taylor officiating and Glover Funeral Home of Dothan directing. Flowers will be accepted.

Gayle was born September 20, 1965, in Dothan to Donald Rex & Sara H. Johnson Smith. She spent most of her early years in Houston County and was a graduate of Dothan High School. Gayle worked in retail as a cashier for Dollar General, Goodwill, and most recently Ace Hardware. She was of Freewill Baptist Faith.

She is preceded in death by her father, Donald Rex Smith.

She is survived by her mother, Sara H. Smith of Dothan; her two sons, Casey Moore of Grand Ridge, FL, and Stephen Moore of Waycross, GA; five grandchildren, Kiarra Moore, K.J. Moore, Landon Moore, Sierra Moore, and Makayla Moore; her brother, Donald Smith (Cindy) of Dothan; her sister, Kathy Roberts (Alan) of Midland City; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Day Spring Hospice for the love and care shown to their loved one during this very difficult time.
