Sgt. Harley Franklin Jacobs, age 90, a resident of Dothan, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 26, 2025 at his home.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Glover Funeral Home in the chapel with Reverend Larry Magwood officiating. Full military rites will be observed.
Sgt. Harley Franklin Jacobs was born to the late Reverend Oscar and Beulah Mince Jacobs on August 14, 1935 in Missouri. Sgt. Jacobs served his country in the United States Air Force for twenty-two years, his love for his country was unwavering. He was married to the love of his life for thirty-nine years, Mrs. Jessie Mae Boyd Jacobs. Family was his main priority, always making sure that his family was taken care of in every kind of way. He always loved to carry on and joke around with anyone he met. His hobbies included going to the shooting range, working any type of electronic, camping, and gardening.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife; parents; a brother, Willard Jacobs; and sister, Margie Wells.
Left to cherish his memories are two sons, Jerome Jacobs and Oscar Jacobs (Stephanie); two daughters, Sadie Roney (James) and Tessie Steverson; two sisters, Ruby Lytle and Faye Mason; nine grandchildren, Larry Eldridge, Nathan Jacobs, Nick Cotillo (Camera), Josh Jacobs, Cherie Allen, Kayla Jacobs, Cameron Jacobs, Katie German (David), Olivia Boatright (Peyton); eighteen great grandchildren, along with many friends.
