Shirley Benjamin Hargrove, a resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Medical Center Barbour. She was 77 years old.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Eufaula with Bro. Dylan Patterson officiating and Glover Funeral Home and Crematory directing. Flowers will be accepted.
Shirley was born on July 7, 1949, in Mobile, Alabama to the late James Arthur and Virginia Lyddane (Metcalfe) Benjamin. She worked many years as a preschool teacher and bus driver for the Mobile County School System. She loved children and especially adored her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sandra Parton; brother-in-law, Earl Bradshaw.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Heather Bowden (Ted); son, Michael Hargrove; sister, Brenda Bradshaw; four grandchildren, Dozier Greer (Jenna), Amber Bennett (Clayton), Pierce Hargrove, and Jasmine Hargrove; two great-grandchildren, Chloe Yarbrough and Oakley Bennett; niece, Diane Marrow; two nephews, Benjie Bradshaw (Susan) and Matthew Bradshaw; several great nieces and nephews.
