The Cottonwood Bears, like other teams in the state, have begun Spring Training and are working toward the upcoming Fall 2012 Season. The Bears, under head Coach Toby Greene, who is entering his 6th year at the helm of the Bears, will travel to Hartford on Thursday, May 17, to battle the Geneva County Bulldogs. Game time has been set for 6 p.m. After having a perfect 10-0 regular season in 2010 and appearing in the quarterfinals, the youthful Bears struggled in 2011 posting their worst record in 19 years. With a year's growth and an increase in numbers, the Bears are looking forward to being competitive in their region this year. This year's schedule will have a new twist as the Bears will have three new teams dotting the schedule, including the season opener with Pleasant Home on the road, followed by later games with McKenzie, as well as with Samson. Wishing the Bears and all area teams success as they prepare to embark on a new season. Hold 'em Bears Always!!

Saturday 5-12-12... The Bears Red and Black game was held on Thursday 5-10. Apparently the staff did a good job in "equalizing both teams." as the game ended in a 14-14 tie..There is plenty of room for improvement, but overall there were a lot of positive things happening.. Best Wishes Bears....BH
