After completing a perfect 10-0 regular season in 2010 and making quarterfinals in the state playoffs, the Bears struggled through a disappointing 1-9 season in 2011. This is unheard of in Bear Country. The losses piled up last year one after the other as the Bears suffered their worst season in many years. The losses came about as the result of graduating a large Senior class in the Spring of 2011. The team was very youthful in 2011 and had very few Seniors. This year, like all other schools, the youth at Cottonwood have grown a year and are entering the 2012 season with great expectations. The Bears 2012 schedule includes three new opponents with the Bears opening the season in Pleasant Home, followed by a home game with McKenzie in midseason, and at Samson in the latter part of the season. The teams above replace Slocomb, Elba and Barbour County. Head Coach Toby Greene and the Bears welcome Coach Rudy Free to the Staff in 2012. Best Wishes to everyone. Be safe. Go Bears!!!!
