Coach Toby Greene, who has begun his seventh year at the helm of the Bears, was pleased with the Bears effort Friday night in their big win over the Eagles from Pleasant Home, Andalusia area. Pleasant Home is a 1A school and they lay claim to a very large team. Our team was totally undersized as compared to their guys and also, even though a 1A, they have 6 more boys on the team than we have. We battled the elements of the weather with game delays, etc.and when the game ended, the Bears had defeated the Eagles at 11:15 p.m. by the score of 40-0.This Friday night, the Bears will begin region play and host the Ariton Purple Cats, coached by the well known Julius Head. We are expecting great things from our Bears this year in the 'Wood. We encourage everyone to come out and see our Bears, new "bright" lights, as well as our awesome new scoreboard, and our bleachers are just three years old on the home side.. We are proud of everything we have in the 'Wood. Best Wishes Bears...
