With their 6th consecutive win under their belts, going back to 2012, the Bears of Head coach Toby Greene now have their sights on the 1A McKenzie Tigers. The game will be in McKenzie next Friday. Last night the Bears were 39-8 winners over 2A foe Wicksburg. Meanwhile, the upstart Tigers of McKenzie came to Hartford and surprised many folks with a 46-28 win over the hometown Geneva County Bulldogs. The Dawgs were state ranked. The Tigers, like the Bears, remain unbeaten. Next week week the game will no doubt be the biggest challenge of the season thus far as we reach the halfway point of the regular 2013 season. The Bears have the stingiest defense in the state in 2A, having given up only 22 points in 4 games. The Bears are now sporting a 3-0 region record, and this time last year the Bears record was 0-3 in the region, with a single win in 4 games. The 2013 team is "fast" and is truly a fun team to watch. They aren't big and are few in number, but they play with a lot of HEART.
