Enterprise JV overwhelms the Raiders JV Boys Soccer Team The Houston Academy Raiders JV Boys soccer team traveled to Enterprise for a 4 pm game on Tuesday 1 March ’16. The Enterprise Wildcats won the game 6-0. The Wildcats dominated play from the start of the match. At the 5 minute mark in the match, Hunter Perry got a pass at the top of the penalty area, worked his way to about 15 yards out and beat the Raiders goalkeeper Davis Mims to the top right hand side of the goal. The Raiders regrouped and played better defense, but to no avail, as the Wildcats scored their 2rd goal at the 12 minute mark from Thomas Ellis. Then, Hunter Perry got loose and scored another goal at 15 minutes into the game.It seemed that the Raiders had made the necessary changes to regroup, as they began to mount an attack on the Wildcats goal. But, around 25 to 32 minutes into the half, the Wildcats came back and scored goals from Daniel Reyes and 2 goals from Samuel Mazariegos to finish the 1st half 6-0. During the first half, Davis Mims saw a total of 23 shots on goal from the Wildcats. He was able to make 17 saves. The Raiders came out the second half with better defense and team play, holding the Cougars to the final score. Eric Mendez played goal keeper in the 2nd half. He made 4 saves. The Raiders defense and offensive units played better. The Raiders saw significant contributions from hard play and hustle from substitutions from the Raiders bench. This included Hunter Helms, Trent Wiley, Harrison Bourkard, Logan Bolton, and Michael Flanagan. The Raiders season record is 3-5. They travel to Mobile area on Friday, for a weekend of games. They will play Bayside Academy on Friday at 5 pm. On Saturday, the Raiders will play Fairhope and Daphne |
