DOTHAN. . .Stephen Wesley “Steve” Floyd, a resident of Dothan, passed away Friday, March 7, 2025, in the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He was 76.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 11, 2025, in the Balkum Cemetery, 1153 County Road 55, Headland, AL., with Dr. Cecil M. Sanders, Jr. officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:30 P.M. Monday at the mortuary in Headland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Headland “Bridge To Tomorrow” Building Fund, 301 East Church Street, Headland, AL 36345 or to the Balkum Cemetery Fund, c/o Beulah Morgan, 4153 County Road 56, Headland, AL 36345.
Steve Floyd was born in Dothan and was reared in the Tumbleton Community of Henry County, son of the late Cecil Wesley Floyd and Ellen Lane Floyd. He was a 1966 graduate of Headland High School. Steve received a B. S. Degree in Botany and later a degree in Pharmacy both from Auburn University. He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War era. Steve lived in Dothan since 1974. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Headland. Steve retired in 2015 as owner, operator and Pharmacist of Headland Pharmacy.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Linda Blount Floyd, two sons, Wess Floyd (Melissa), Franklin, TN; and Blount Floyd (Annie), Ashland City, TN; a brother, Ken Floyd, Dothan; grandchildren, Gus Floyd, Logan Floyd and Lily Floyd; a niece, Erin Bedsole (Will), a nephew, Lane Floyd (Mara).
Serving as pallbearers will be Wess Floyd, Blount Floyd, Lane Floyd, Andrew Roney, Wes Bell, Brandon Dempsey, Chris Morrison, Chris Woodham, Richy Robinson, Andrew Nelson, Anthony McCord and Nathan Roland.
