Steve Arthur Harper
Steve Arthur Harper, 72, a life-long resident of Houston County, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Steve was born April 26, 1954, in Dothan to the late Arthur Mitchell & Minnie Wynora Harper. He attended Cottonwood High School where he played football, before graduating in 1972. Following high school, he attended trade school, where he became a welder. Steve worked for many years at Farley Nuclear Plant as a welder & pipe fitter. Later, he began farming row crops on his family land, something he thoroughly enjoyed during his later years of his life.
He is preceded by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rhonda Harper of Dothan; his son, Steven Harper of Wauchula, FL; his daughter, Stephanie Michelle Evans (Jason) of Wauchula, FL; his brother, Mike (Linda) Harper of Dothan; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Nurse Lynda Kirkland & Vitas Hospice for the love and care shown to their loved one during this time.
