Susan Theresa (Wagner) Mathis, a resident of Clio, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Ozark Health and Rehab in Ozark.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6:00pm on Monday, June 29, 2026 at Calvary Church in Clio with Dr. Randy Adams officiating.
Susan was born on October 6, 1948. She became a licensed practical nurse in 1982. She worked as a LPN and served in ministry for many years. Her and her husband, Ray, lived in the Geneva and Birmingham areas before his passing. After her husband’s passing and her retirement, she moved to Clio in 2008. She served at Calvary Church in many departments and became the spiritual mother of many. She would tell it like it was, hold you accountable, keep you humble, pray for you and uplift you all at the same time. Her catch phrase for many years was “don’t be bratty”.
Susan is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Mathis; canine sons, Icey and Mickey.
