THOMAS M. WILCOX, Jr.

HEADLAND… Thomas M. Wilcox, Jr., a devoted resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away at the age of 91 Tuesday morning, July 7, 2026, at Command Sgt. Maj. Bennie G. Adkins State Veterans Home.

A memorial service will be held at 4:30 P.M. Friday, July 10, 2026, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel, with his son, Mark Wilcox and Dr. Perry Mobley officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:30 until 4:30 P.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is providing the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Bethlehem Walk to Emmaus, 621 County Road 79, Headland, Alabama 36345.

Mr. Wilcox was born in Bonifay, Florida to the late Thomas Morrison Wilcox, Sr. and Lillie Mae Gay Wilcox. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force.  Following his military service, he attended and graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Agronomy.

Tom devoted many years to the agricultural industry, retiring from Tide Products following a successful career in agricultural fertilizer and chemical sales. During his time with Tide Products he made many lifelong friends in the farming community.

Later in life things became more simple to him.  He enjoyed just going and spending time at the farm. He was a faithful member of the Headland Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilcox was preceded in death by his sisters Wilhelmina Belcher and Francis “Fran” Mayo.

Leaving to cherish his memories are his daughter, Delynne Wilcox; his son, Mark Wilcox (Heather); his granddaughter, Shelli Solomon (Carey); his great-granddaughter, Elli Solomon;  his cousin Gerald Wilcox (Jane); and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the many staff members of Azalea Court Aassisted Living, Command Sgt. Maj. Bennie G. Adkins State Veterans Home; and Gentiva Hospice. Your kindness, compassion, and unwavering support were a true blessing and will always be remembered with sincere appreciation.
