Titus Jerry Prevatt, a resident of Gordon, Alabama died unexpectantly Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at his residence. He was 75.
Funeral services for Titus will be held at 11 AM Monday, September 21, 2026 at Watermark Church in Ashford, Alabama with Pastor Todd Thorpe and Dean Moore officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 PM until 5 PM Sunday, September 20, 2026 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cowarts cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Watermark Church Ramp Team in honor of Titus.
Titus Jerry Prevatt was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, faithful friend, and a man whose life was grounded in faith, hard work, service, and family. Above all, Titus loved the Lord with all his heart.
Titus was the beloved husband of Lynda Dodson Prevatt, his cherished wife and lifelong companion of almost 39 years. Together, they built a life filled with love, faith, family, and countless memories. In 1997, they built their home in Gordon, where they enjoyed the peaceful country life Titus loved so dearly. That home became the place where they shared many of life’s sweetest moments and built a life they could call their own.
He was a loving father to Tyla Holloway and Jonathan Prevatt , and a proud grandfather to his only grandson, Tanner Holloway. His family was precious to him, and the love he gave them will continue to be part of their lives for generations to come.
Titus proudly served his country in the military for two years. He later spent many dedicated years working at Farley Nuclear Plant, retiring in 2012. Titus believed in working hard, doing things right, and giving his very best. His strong work ethic was a reflection of the character he carried throughout his life.
He lived by the words of Scripture: “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”— Colossians 3:23 (KJV)
An outdoorsman at heart, Titus found great joy in the country life he loved. He enjoyed breeding dogs, fishing, hunting, and simply being outdoors. These passions brought him happiness and created countless memories for those who shared them with him.
Titus also believed in giving back to his community. Through his community service and his involvement with Watermark Church, he demonstrated his desire to serve others. His faith was not simply something he professed; it was an important part of the way he lived.
Titus leaves behind more than memories. He leaves a legacy of faith, perseverance, service, and love. He leaves behind the home he built, the work he was proud of, the family he cherished, and the many lives he touched along the way.
To know Titus was to know a man who valued the things that mattered most: his Lord, his family, his country, his work, and the simple blessings of life. His absence will leave a space that cannot be filled, but his family can carry forward the lessons he lived by and the love he gave them so freely.
His loved ones will remember his steady presence, his hardworking hands, his love of the outdoors, and the life he built alongside Lynda. Most of all, they will remember a man who loved his Lord and sought to live his life with purpose.
Though Titus has left this earthly home, his story does not end here. His faith gives his family hope that this goodbye is not forever. They can take comfort in knowing that the man they loved is now at peace with the Lord he faithfully loved and served.

Titus is preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Edna Jarvis Prevatt; brother, Jay Prevatt, Jr.; sisters, Mable Glass, Juanita Tice and Inez Hughes.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Lynda Prevatt; children, Tyla Holloway (Terry), Jonathan Prevatt (Gabby); grandson, Tanner Holloway; brothers, Tim Prevatt (Carol), James Prevatt (Melanie); sisters, Joyce Baxley, Abbie Sheppard (Kevin); brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Jacquelyn Dodson along with several nieces and nephews.
