Treavon LaKeith Blackmon, known affectionately as Trea to his family and friends, passed away on December 17, 2025, at the young age of 19. Born on May 27, 2006, in Dothan, Alabama, Treavon was a beacon of joy and friendliness in the lives of all who knew him.

Treavon’s journey began as the cherished son of Keith and Jennifer Blackmon, and he grew up alongside his beloved brother, Kejuan Lamar Blackmon. He was blessed with the love and wisdom of his grandmothers, Mary Burks and Odesta Blackmon, who nurtured his kind-hearted nature. Though his grandfathers, John L. Burks and Willie C. Blackmon, preceded him in death, their influence and memories remained a guiding light in Treavon’s life. He also shared a special bond with his uncles, Daniel Webster, Robert (Brittany) Robinson, and Jonathan (Wynther) Robinson, and held dear the memory of his deceased cousin, DeShawn Campbell.

Treavon’s education culminated as a proud 2025 graduate of Dothan High School, where his enthusiasm and love for life left an indelible mark on both the school and his classmates. His passions extended beyond the classroom; Treavon was a veritable dancing machine, often found grooving to the music of Michael Jackson, whom he admired greatly. His vibrant personality was matched by his colorful attire; he was always impeccably dressed in suits, hats, and shoes that reflected his old soul and his favorite color, orange.

Friends were never far from Treavon’s side, with Javarius Burden and Cedric sharing in countless joyful and heartfelt moments. His infectious happiness, love for funny movies, and the ease with which he made acquaintances earned him a reputation for never having met a stranger. Treavon’s biggest aspiration was to restore his granddaddy’s black GMC truck, a project that spoke to his determination and connection to his family’s heritage.

Treavon’s legacy is one of love, friendship, and an unwavering positive spirit. He was the embodiment of friendliness and love, always ready with a smile and a kind word for anyone in need. His memory will be treasured and held close in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.

The Blackmon family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this time of loss. Treavon’s memory will continue to inspire joy and kindness, just as he did every day of his far-too-short but incredibly impactful life. Though he has departed from this world, Treavon LaKeith Blackmon’s spirit will forever dance in the lives of those he touched.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at 2:00 pm in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
