WIREGRASS:  Forecasters are watching a tropical system in the Gulf that could strengthen to hurricane strength before reaching the central Gulf Coast Saturday.
The storm, expected to be named Isaías, could bring strong winds, heavy rain, flooding and isolated tornadoes to parts of the Gulf Coast and Alabama this weekend.
Current forecast guidance suggests the system could track near or through the Alabama coast, but officials say it is still too early to determine specific impacts or locations.
Forecasters expect a clearer picture as the storm becomes better organized and additional hurricane hunter data becomes available.
Residents across Alabama are encouraged to closely monitor the forecast and prepare for possible severe weather this weekend.
