Victoria Denise Meadows

Victoria Denise Meadows, familiarly called Denise or Neci, was born on Feb 13, 1969. Unfortunately, we lost her earlier than any of us wanted due to the aging complications of Down Syndrome.  Denise has joined the other members of our family in Heaven now, leaving this earth on April 12, 2026.  She was greatly loved and her vibrant, loving self will be deeply missed.

For the majority of her life, Denise loved to write and color.  She would ask every person she met when their birthday was, would record it in her calendar, and would make them a multi-page birthday card filled with flowers, balloons, hearts, a cake and many “I love you”s.  She would also give her birth date to her friends at church and would start reminding them it was coming up about 2 weeks before.  Many of her friends spoiled her with gifts just to see the delight she showed with each one—even when it wasn’t her birthday.

Disney princesses—Cinderella being her favorite– mermaids, dolphins, crazy socks and crocs were some of Denise’s favorite things.  She loved going to the beach, bowling, music—especially Elvis songs and Silent night. She loved game shows, especially Wheel of Fortune, and loved being with and taking pictures of her friends. For many years she had a ritual of laying their pictures in rows beside her bed each night before she would submit to sleep.

Denise was preceded in Death by both mothers Joan Meadows and Aneita Roberts.  Also, by her sisters Wanda Morgan and Karen Chaplin, and brother Victor Chaplin.  Her remaining siblings are Kellee Meadows, Susie Wilson, Barbara, William, Samuel and Richard Parker; Marianne Miller, Tammy Chaplin, Amanda Kishpaugh, Marcus and Cora Smith.

We will miss sweet Neci and her funny and engaging personality.  We are so comforted that she is no longer in pain and is in a better place.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 18th, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at Dothan Vineyard Church, 150 Bethlehem Rd, Midland City AL 36350.  Everyone is welcome. Feel free to wear something you know Neci would love…butterflies, a tiara, hearts, mermaids, flowers, bright colors…or so many other options.
