DOTHAN. . .Vivian Thompson Hicks, a resident Dothan, passed away early Tuesday morning, December 17, 2024, at her home. She was 91.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Friday, December 20, 2024, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Chaplain Bobby Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, near Headland. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 P.M. Friday at the mortuary in Headland.
Mrs. Hicks was born and reared in Houston County, daughter of the late Major Taft Thompson and Annie Mae Wood Thompson. She lived in Dothan all her adult lifetime where she was a member of Cloverdale Baptist Church. She was retired as an Agent with Gulf Life Insurance Company (American General Life). Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Alvin Hicks, sisters, Irelle Johnson Ramage, Martha McDaniel and Ellen Hughes, and brothers, Rex Allen Thompson, Hayward Thompson, Gene Thompson and Billy Thompson.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Donna Hicks Jordan (Scotty), Dothan; and Ronda Hicks, Alexander City, AL; two sons, Terry Hicks, Dothan; and Larry Hicks (Diane), Headland; two brothers, Johnny Thompson (Eleanor), Headland; and Dennis Thompson, Dothan; a sister-in-law, Mildred Thompson, Midland City; seven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Ronald Hughes, Robert Mitchell, Jeff Mitchell, Stanley Chappell, Jonathan Thompson, Troy Thompson and Travis Thompson.
