William Dean Farnsworth, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at his home. He was 74.


Graveside Services will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, May 8, 2026 at Ashford City Cemetery with Reverend Chuck Locke officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing.

William was born in St. Joseph, Missouri to the late Billy and Phyllis Neal Farnsworth on September 25, 1951. His early years were spent in Illinois and Indiana. He was a 1969 high school graduate of Waltrip Senior High School, he received degrees from the University of Houston and Syracuse University. He served his country in the United States Marines. He was a faithful member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and a member of the Elk’s Lodge 1887. William was an avid athlete, playing many sports and excelling in tennis. He loved to dance and never missed a step. He had a large collection of wrist watches and could tell you anything and everything you needed to know about them. He always had a special love for canines. William spent most of his adult life traveling around the world, going to places such as England, France, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, Australia, Italy, Monico, Luxembourg, and Russia, where he taught English as a second language. He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Left to cherish his memories are two sisters, Jewel Leeman (Andy) of Dothan, and Joyce Crosson of Sheridan, Indiana; one brother, Clark Farnsworth of Louisiana; along with nieces, and many friends.
