PELHAM, ALABAMA. . .William Edwin “Billy” Baxter, a resident of Pelham, Alabama, passed away on November 26, 2025, at the age of 73.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 11, 2025, in the Mountain Brook Community Church, 3001 Highway 280, East, Birmingham, AL. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the church.
Billy was born and raised in the Pleasant Plains Community, between Headland and Columbia, Alabama. He was the son of the late Robert M. “Bob” Baxter and Ruth Royals Baxter. He was a graduate of Houston County High School in Columbia and also the University of Alabama. Billy was retired as the Southeast Director of the American Red Cross.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Lynn Baxter; two sons, Will Baxter (Anja), and Dr. Cary Baxter (Allie); four granddaughters, Adeline Baxter, Emma Baxter, Lilly Baxter and Ruthie Baxter; a brother, Donny Baxter (Sarah Jane), Tuscaloosa.
