William “Skip” Henry Wilkerson, Jr.
William “Skip” Henry Wilkerson, Jr., 73, of Dothan, passed away on April 25, 2026, at the age of 73.
Skip was born in Seaford, Delaware, on September 21, 1952. He attended Grissom High School in Huntsville, Alabama, and served in the United States Army, including a tour in Vietnam in 1972. He eventually settled in the Dothan area, where he attended Wallace Community College, worked as a machinist, and raised his children with his wife, Karen.
Over the years, his green thumb and knack for gardening and landscaping provided food to eat, trees to climb, and the simple beauty that made a yard feel like home. In retirement, he spent more time on those hobbies and also took up jelly-making, which his grandchildren especially loved.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and he will truly be missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Henry Wilkerson, Sr. & Helen Wilkerson; and his sister, Teresa Beaty.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Wilkerson; his three daughters, Amy Raines (Sam), Jennifer Priola (Vince), and Sierra Wilkerson (Wesley); his six grandchildren, Shawn Raines, Amber Raines, Trystan Wilkerson, Kane Godwin, Anna Priola, and Arlo Priola; his brother, Michael Wilkerson; his beloved dog, Bebe; and numerous extended family members.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 8, 2026, at Glover Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.
Interment will follow at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama, at a later date.
