
Mrs. Willie Jean Cochran of Ashford went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the age of 95.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, April 17, 2026, at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Stringfellow officiating. Burial will follow in Ashford City Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2 PM Friday, one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Cochran was born December 17, 1930, in Houston County, Alabama to the late William Rufus King and Lucille Douglas King.
A graduate of Ashford High School, she lived most of her life in the Ashford area. She and her late husband of 47 years, Jack T. Cochran, owned and operated J & J Service Center for more than 20 years. They also owned and operated J &J Opry House 16 years.
A woman of faith, she loved the Lord. She found joy in simple pleasures of life, caring for her family, flowers, and pets.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Geraldine Anderson, Ashford, AL, Jo Ann Stringfellow (Gary), Panama City Beach, FL, Brenda Sykes (Ronnie), Ashford, AL; six grandchildren, Angela Anderson, Jeremy Anderson, Joy Irwin (Steve), Jeffrey Stringfellow, Jessica Andrews (Tom), Brandon Sykes (Rolanda); eleven great-grandchildren, Kaylea Knight, Jacob McNeill (Sarah), Chad Anderson, Tyler Anderson, Landon Irwin, Matilyn Irwin, Eleanor Stringfellow, Caden Andrews, Colby Andrews, Shyanne Sykes, Ansleigh Irwin; one great great grandchild, Olivia Henderson; and several nieces and nephews.
