COLUMBIA. . .Wilma Rosebrough Keown, a resident of the Pleasant Plains community, between Headland & Columbia, passed away Sunday afternoon, June 7, 2026, at her home. She was 99.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, June 12, 2026, in Gardens of Memory, between Headland & Dothan, with Reverend Tony Hinton and Reverend Jimmy Griffin officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. Friday at Holman Mortuary in Headland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wallace and Wilma Keown Scholarship Fund, c/o The Baptist Foundation of Alabama, P.O. Box 241277, Montgomery, AL 36124-1227.
Mrs. Keown was born and raised in Birmingham, daughter of the late Charles Thomas Rosebrough and Emma Bullock Rosebrough. She was a graduate of Jones Valley High School and attended Samford University. Mrs. Keown lived in Tennessee, Louisiana, Birmingham and Selma before moving to the Dothan area in 1974. She was a member of Pathway Baptist Church and taught music in the area for fifteen years. Mrs. Keown lived a life marked by unwavering faith, humble service, and deep love for her family. For many years, she faithfully served alongside her husband in ministry, sharing her gifts as a Sunday School teacher, church pianist and organist, choir member and leader within her churches. She was a Godly example to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family is grateful for her many years they were blessed to share with her and rejoice in knowing that she is home with the Lord. Mrs. Keown was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Wallace E. Keown, son-in-law, Gary Holloman, a sister, Loretta Cunningham and three brothers, Dr. Carl Rosebrough, Charles Rosebrough and Wayne Rosebrough.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Sherrill Holloman Griffin (Jimmy), Columbia; sons, Tommy Keown (Sandi), Cumming, GA; and Charles Keown (Linda), Phenix City, AL; sister-in-law, Lanice Rosebrough; grandchildren, Katie Marks (Dan), Mary Atchley, Andrea Holloman, David Holloman (Lindsay), Steven Holloman (Caitlyn), Joy Bedillion (Grant), Jon Keown (Kasey), Jes Keown (Elizabeth) and James McAllister; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
