WILMA WRIGHT MARSHALL

HEADLAND… Wilma Wright Marshall, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at her daughters’ home. She was 86.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, April 12, 2026, at First Baptist Church – Headland, with Dr. Cecil M. Sanders officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Marshall was born in Lewistown, Pennsylvania to the late Bert Wright and Cleda Merle Wilson Wright. She lived her young adult life in Pennsylvania, where she was a 1957 graduate of Lewistown Granville High School. She moved to Headland, Alabama in 1977. While in Headland, she owned and operated Creative Fabrics. She used her skills as a seamstress to help the local schools and especially the cheerleaders, by making cheerleader uniforms for all ages, for several years. She also helped at the Burdeshaw – Solomon Senior Center. She was an expert shopper, as she could take a dollar and make three out of it. She was a very active member of the First Baptist Church – Headland. She served on the benevolence committee at the church. She went on several mission trips. She was a very selfless person, and she would always love to take care of others. At Christmas time she would always sponsor the family of a prison inmate to make sure their children would get Christmas. She will be missed by her family and a lot of friends.

Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Larry Marshall; her son, Patrick Rhodes; her stepsons, Mike Marshall and Marty Marshall; her granddaughter, Jessica Diane Press; her sister, Elvy Hudson; and her sister-in-law, Patricia Diane Wright.

Leaving to cherish her memories are her daughters, Wendy Press (Steve) and Ann Bottoms; her brother, Bert Wright, Jr.; her grandchildren, Josh Press (Emily), Zach Press, Britney Rhodes, Jacy Bottoms (Elena), and Brooke Rhodes; her great-grandson, Adrian Jarus; her step-son, Mitch Marshall; her step-daughters-in-law, JoAnn Marshall and Cindy Marshall; her special nieces, Vonnie Baney (Paul), Denni Thomas (Mike) and Rachel Utterback (Mark); and several nieces and nephews.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Johnny Lee, Bob Frank Williams, Jim Burns, Mac Davis, Bruce Bedsole, Josh Press, Zach Press, Jacy Bottoms, and Mitch Marshall. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be her Sunday School Class.
